Currently, openvpn only accepts "bind" if both "lport" and "local" options are specified. Why? Why can't I specify "local" to instruct openvpn to bind to a specific IP address or interface and leave it to decide a (random) port it binds to in the same way in which the "nobind" option currently functions?

I have OpenVPN AS started as an rc.d script. I want Bind9 to bind to a virtual network interface that OpenVPN sets up. However only after the script terminates some virtual devices names as0t0 and as0t1. Meanwhile, Bind9 (DNS server) is started and it can't bind to those interfaces since they don't exist at the time.
I've set BIND to listen on all interfaces (for testing) and have told OpenVPN to present the IP of my pfSEnse box to clients. Yet when I connect through my VPN I am unable to ping any of the records in BIND. It seems as though it's not resolving DNS on the tunnel created. If anyone has any advice I'd be grateful.
